More Than 500 Bookbags, One United Community: She United’s Back-to-School Drive Makes an Impact

What began as a new collaboration became a powerful demonstration of what is possible when a community comes together with purpose.

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, She United partnered with Dynasty Commodities to host the 1st Annual Collab Back-to-School Drive in Harlem. Together, we proudly gave away more than 500 bookbags to local students preparing for the new school year.

More Than a Bookbag

A bookbag may seem like a simple school essential, but for a child preparing to return to the classroom, it can represent so much more.

It can mean walking into school feeling prepared. It can ease one expense for a parent or caregiver. It can remind a young person that their community believes in them and wants to see them succeed.

That is the kind of impact She United strives to create, meeting practical needs while helping children and families feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Powered by Partnership

This event marked the beginning of a meaningful collaboration between She United and Dynasty Commodities. By combining our resources, reach, and shared commitment to the community, we were able to serve more than 500 students and families in a single afternoon.

The turnout was a beautiful reminder that lasting impact does not happen alone. It happens when organizations, volunteers, supporters, families, and community members unite around a shared goal.

Building Toward the Future

The 1st Annual Collab Back-to-School Drive was more than a successful event, it was the beginning of what we hope will become an annual tradition of service, connection, and collective impact.

To every person who donated, volunteered, partnered, attended, or helped spread the word: thank you. Your support helped more than 500 young people begin the school year with greater confidence and the supplies they needed to move forward.

Together, we did more than give away bookbags. We showed our students that their community is standing behind them.

And this is only the beginning.
